Week 7 of the NFL will conclude with MNF between two inter-conference rivals on Monday, October 24, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Bears vs. Patriots betting pick and odds.
Chicago is desperate to avoid the fourth loss in a row when they take on New England at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots are 8-point favorites on BetMGM Sportsbook, while the total is set at 39.5 points. These inter-conference rivals will meet for the first time since 2018.
Bears lost to the Commanders in a low-scoring game
The Chicago Bears (2-4, 2-3-1 ATS) suffered the third loss in a row, but they were agonizingly close to beating the Washington Commanders at home in the most recent game. Chicago had an opportunity to score a game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but Justin Fields’ pass to Darnell Mooney fell short a yard of Washington’s end zone, so the visitors won 12-7. The Bears scored a season-low seven points and lost despite dominating total yards (391-214) and first downs (20-14). They did commit a couple of turnovers and forced none on the other end.
Justin Fields completed 14 of 27 passes for 190 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also led all the runners with 88 yards on 12 carries. Dante Pettis was the best receiver on the field with 84 yards and a TD on four catches, while Darnell Mooney contributed with 68 on seven receptions. Once again, Roquan Smith showed his qualities on defense with game-high 12 tackles and a sack.
Patriots won two in a row
The New England Patriots (3-3, 3-2-1 ATS) bounced back from a pair of losses to the Ravens and Packers with a couple of victories over the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns. Following a defensive clinic in a 28-0 victory over the Lions, the Pats scored season-high 38 points in a comfortable 38-15 road win against the Browns. New England controlled the possession (35:05-24:55) and forced four turnovers while making only one in return.
Bailey Zappe completed 24 of 34 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns. He connected with Hunter Henry and Tyquan Thornton in the end zone, while DeVante Parker led the team with 64 yards on four receptions. Rhamondre Stevenson was great on the ground with 76 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, while Tyquan Thornton added a rushing TD as well. Not only that Kyle Dugger got an interception, but he also led the Patriots with eight tackles.
QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) is unavailable to play on Monday against Chicago. QB Mac Jones (ankle), LB Josh Uche (hamstring), RB Damien Harris (hamstring), WR Kendrick Bourne (toe), CB Jonathan Jones (ankle), DE Lawrence Guy (shoulder), and WR Nelson Agholor (hamstring) are questionable.
- 1-3-1 ATS in the last five games overall
- 2-5 ATS in the last seven road games
- 8-2 ATS in the last ten games following an ATS win
- 5-2 ATS in the last seven home games
Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots Pick
Chicago has the second-worst offense in the NFL that averages 15.5 points per game and they are the worst in pass offense with 122.8 yards per game. Even though the Bears have the second-best run offense (170.7 ypg), the Patriots are defending the opposing runners well, and the visitors will struggle offensively here. New England is scoring eight points per game more than the Bears, and that, I believe, will be enough to beat them and cover the spread.
Pick: Take the Patriots at -7.5 (-110)
Chicago managed to score 20+ points only twice in six games this season, and given how good New England’s defense has been of late, I doubt the Bears will score more than 14 on Monday. The Bears scored 44 in three road games so far, while the Pats allowed just 15 points in the last two games. Both teams will use their run offenses quite a bit in this one, so I expect a low-scoring encounter. Under is 11-2 in the Bears’ last 13 games in October, while Under is 6-1 in the Patriots’ previous seven Monday games.
Pick: Go Under 40.5 points (-135)
